I saw a few questions on the forum regarding MGS 4 story so I reposted a Revised Version of this FAQ

War Economy?
The Rise of PMCs and all aspects of armed Conflicts from weapons industry to slaries paid to mercenaries became an integral dynamo the drives global financial markets.
Sons of the patriots?
a secured system of real time battlefield control all soldiers and PMC mercenaries using nanomachines injected into them.
What happened to the Soldiers in the Middle east?
Liquid Ocelot deactivated the nanomachines controllong them.so they were subjected to the full force of psychological effects repressed by the SOP system.
Why is Snake aging?
Les enfants terribles the project cloning Big Boss which made snake enginnered him to be
fast aging and sterille to prevent his DNA from falling into the wrong Hands.
how long will snake live?
No One Knows For Sure Because Naomi wasn't talking about his life span when she mentioned 6 months she was talking about fox die .She then goes on to tell him that he will be giving mutated Foxdie to everyone in 3 months.
Snake : How long do I have?
Naomi : ...Half a year.
Naomi : You and I both know your body is approaching its limit. When I said another half a year, I wasn't talking about your lifespan.
Naomi : We can't get rid of the FOXDIE in your body completely. At this point, it's circulating within you like a normal virus.The receptors on the FOXDIE inside your body are breaking down.
The rapid aging process is changing the environment within your body. As a result, the virus is starting to mutate.
what was ocelot's true intentions?
Ocelot's true intentions were to manipulate Solid Snake into taking down the AI network and restarting the nation. He also planned to awaken Big Boss, since BB knows where Zero is hiding.Ocelot knew what snake would do with the right motivation(Liquid) so he had snake do his work like in mgs 1 and eva and liquid were deciving snake and the patriots ,snake said that liquid you could have stopped us but liquid said that he didn't want to stop them (same goals).He Knew snake - as a patriots' agent- he would be above suspicsion.
If ocelot was manipulating snake why did he try to kill him?
It was liquid who was trying to kill snake not ocelot.liquid always tried to overcome his brother I think if liquid succeded in killing snake he would continued his original plan to nuke jd and for ocelot it wouldn't make any changes to his plan because either way the patriots would be destroyed and BB would return .remeber mgs 1 .
why wouldn't ocelot just help snake if they shared the same goals?
If Ocelot had just helped Snake directly, the Patriots could have come up with numerous ways to stop him fairly easily..
ocelot motivating snake was confirmed by ocelot when snake told him you could have stopped us but ocelot replied no why would i stop you??
why did ocelot fight snake?
the fight started between liquid and snake (the competing snakes) then led to ocelot fighting snake because of his admiration of BB and snake who mush resembled him that's why before he dies he says to snake: "you are pretty good".
Ocelot's Role in MGS2?
I think he was a patriots' agent whose job was to infiltrate solidus's organization for the patriot's sake (As he did with liquid in mgs1) he also planted the first seeds for convincing the patriots that he was taken over by liquid.he acted as if he was the patriots' loyal agent but he always wanted to destroy them and free BB.
Can you sum ocelot role up?
Solidus was angry with the Patriots and he persuaded Ocelot to persuade Liquid to make the shadow Moses incident.
Ocelot killed the Darpa chief and called it an accident. Unknown to everyone, Ocelot and Eva were still Big Boss devotees. He was always a sleeper agent in the Patriots. Killing Anderson was another Patriot he didn't have to deal with. Anderson also recognized who he was and he had to off him before his was cover blown to Liquid and the others.
Solidus thought he was clever enough to rebel, but no matter what he chose to do, the AI had already considered the scenario and prepared a plan. Solidus wanted Ocelot to obtain battle data from Rex so he could use it to rebel and set up his own Outer Heaven. It didn't turn out that way.Ocelot and Eva wanted to liberate Big Boss from Zero's control. Ocelot is a slave of the Patriots, so he's spent decades doing their dirty work. Solid Snake is their wildcard and the Patriots let him act freely(just as the Drebin). Ocelot's true intentions were to manipulate Solid Snake into taking down the AI network and restarting the nation. He also planned to awaken Big Boss, since BB knows where Zero is hiding. By playing the role of Liquid Snake, Ocelot managed to force the Patriot AI to focus on Liquid's plans instead, which were actually a diversion. Liquid had no intentions of nuking JD or ever taking control of SOP. His only plan was to convince Snake he was doing this, also fooling the Patriots. This pursauded Snake into taking out the AI, which stopped the Patriots. No one counted on Sunny and Naomi rewriting the AI instead of fully destroying it. So in a sense, Big Boss and Zero BOTH lost. Society itself won and earned its renewed freedom. "the world is better off without Snakes" and "We should do our best to leave the world alone"
Big Boss,Ocelot ,Eva and Naomi found their salvation in death and in freeing the world from the Patriots.
why did he change himself to liquid?
By playing the role of Liquid Snake, Ocelot managed to force the Patriot AI to focus on Liquid's plans instead, which were actually a diversion. Liquid had no intentions of nuking JD or ever taking control of SOP. His only plan was to convince Snake he was doing this, also fooling the Patriots.ocelot motivating snake was confirmed by ocelot when snake told him you could have stopped us but ocelot replied no why would i stop you??
For 2 reasons
1) manipulate snake the true goal
2) fool the patriots and build his pmc empire using identity of a dead guy
MGS 2
"After Revolver Ocelot had his right hand cut off during the Shadow Moses Incident, he paid a transplant team in Lyon, France to attach Liquid Snake's right arm to his body. However whenever Solid Snake is nearby, Revolver Ocelot acts as if Liquid Snake's mind has reawakened and taken over his consciousness" -Liquid Snake's Right Arm Database
Ocelot was acting,in MGS 2 the database says that ocelot was faking the " get out of my head liquidddd, BROTHERSSSS",so he first acted.
between MGS2 and MGS4
but then liquid got to him because ocelot and really controlled him because he could feel the dead due to the sorrow so he removed liquid's arm and planted a prosthetic arm then using drugs and other things he planted liquid in him.
In MGS 4
"The mind of Liquid Snake, housed in the body of Revolver Ocelot. Balance was restored to his psyche after the right hand that housed Liquid Snake's will was surgically replaced as a prosthetic limb." -Liquid Ocelot Database
Naomi's Role ?
Naomi main goal was to destroy the patriots and zero and that was stated by big boss in the end so she acted accordingly help snake a bit (Ocelot manipulating snake to achieve his goals) and helping Ocelot and let me remind you that Ocelot and snake shared simi-equal goals.
what did eva know?
Eva at First Knew The Ocelot's plat to free Big Boss so she took the control of the resistance group paradise lost but then she knew The Liquid Ocelot Truly exists that's why she thought that the body thrown in fire was Big Boss's (as Would Liquid Ocelot do) and not Solidus's.

the nanomachines literally didnt allow the patriots to say the word patriot, so when they tried it automatically came out as la-li-lu-le-lo and yaaay
